Can't get the Premium Wicking Mix?

We recommend blending:

  • Good quality potting mix – approximately 9 x 30 litre bags per Foodcube
  • Fertiliser (slow release)
  • Coir block (Coconut Fibre) – 1 x 60 litre equivalent block per Foodcube
  • Soak the coir in a wheelbarrow or tub. Mix all ingredients thoroughly before placing in the Foodcube.
    * Over time you can also add manures, compost and worm castings.

Foodcube Reset instructions
Your Foodcube growing mix can get tired after a big season of producing. Or if you feel like the growth is less productive, a simple reset will help restore nutrients, improve soil structure, and set your plants up for strong growth in the months ahead. Refreshing your Foodcube mix doesn’t mean starting from scratch, it’s about recharging what’s already there.

Prepare for reset
• Harvest remaining crops
• Remove old roots and plant remains
• Break up compacted chunks to loosen the soil texture

The Reset Ingredients (Recipe is for 1 x Foodcube / Halve the mix for 1 x Slim)
Mix the following directly into your existing growing blend:
•    30L compost (about ⅓ of a wheelbarrow)
•    300g gypsum (roughly three large handfuls)
•    200g organic fertiliser
•    Blood & Bone or Dynamic Lifter
•    100g dolomite lime

Using a fork or spade, thoroughly mix these ingredients into the original blend, then lightly compact the surface to finish. This combination replenishes nutrients, supports healthy root development, improves drainage, and balances pH - all essential for consistent, productive growth.

Keep the Good Stuff Coming: Ongoing Feeding

To maintain momentum throughout the growing cycle, follow up with top-dressing:
•    Apply 50–100g of organic fertiliser
•    Add a small bucket of compost

First application: 2 weeks after planting
Second application: as plants mature

This slow and steady feeding approach keeps plants thriving without overloading them which is perfect for leafy greens, fruiting crops and extended harvests.
