Bass Coast Shire Council has a new edible courtyard and it is bursting with food.
Designed by The Sustainable Landscape Company, the courtyard has become a place for council staff to come together and grow food to support community groups and their food relief programs.
We had a chance to sit down with Sharni Mann from the council and Greg Thompson, the manager of Pical- Phillip Island Community and Learning Centre Inc.
We discussed the inspiration behind the courtyard and the many benefits of growing food.
More broadly, we talked about food security and sustainability in the Bass Coast Shire and what the council and Pical are doing to prepare the community for a sustainable future.
Take a look.
